Synecdoche, New York

An incredible film. My introduction to Charlie Kaufman and his crazy post-modern surreal Gabriel García Márquez-esque world building.

Most of time is spent not yet born or dead. Life is but a brief fragment of time, as fleeting as a dream in the grand scheme of things. It's impossible to tell reality from fiction in this film, and it is rife with metaphor and indulgence.

To be honest, I definitely did have to read the wikipedia page for this one.

Overall, just an excellent film that I don't have the courage to watch again. At least for a while.

The next Kaufman film is already on the watchlist.
